| Pontils is a stone quarry situated in the Conca de Barberà (Tarragona) that was exploited by Bercontres for the first time in 1989, after the transfer of the property of the mine activity, that had started en the region in 1974.

The mine zone actually authorized makes approximately 1 hectare that means that we still have enough reserves, so that we can look at the future quite positively. |

| deposits | |
The quarry is situated on grounds of the inferior Eocene, formed by bioclastical limestone benches, bioclastical limestone and marls, dolomite lutites and limestone. It is basically the Opine formation (lleridian) that is exploited, that consists basically in limestone benches and white dolomites grainstone type, of marine origin of albeolines. Its thickness reaches 61 metres.
